About The Fur Plan
There are thousands of pet-hair tips online, and most people who've read them are still cleaning every day. The tips aren't wrong. The problem is that nobody tells you which one to do first for your home, and which ones you can skip. That's the whole job of this site.
The planner asks four questions: what kind of coat you're dealing with, what actually bothers you, where your pet spends its time, and what you already own. It answers with one change to make first, why, how to start today, and a short list of things you can stop doing. Then it asks you to try that for a few days and adjust.
Who writes this
The site editor is based in Melbourne, Australia, and lived with shedding dogs for several decades before building this. They are not a vet, a groomer or a scientist. The plans are starting points drawn from long experience and from published grooming and allergy guidance, not from testing products in a lab.
What we don't do
- We don't sell products and we don't earn commissions. When a plan mentions something you could buy, it describes what to look for and leaves the shopping to you.
- We don't give veterinary advice. Sudden heavy shedding, bald patches, red or sore skin, or a pet that's scratching a lot are reasons to see a vet, not to follow a cleaning plan.
- We don't treat allergies. The allergy plan is about reducing exposure; it says so, and it tells you to see a doctor.
How the site is paid for
At the moment it isn't. If it ever carries ads they will be clearly labelled as ads and kept away from the plans themselves.
If a plan didn't work
Every plan ends with a short feedback box. What you write there goes only to the site editor and is used to fix the rules. The quickest way to make the site better is to tell us what didn't work and why.
